What a tag record is

The dated record that mirrors the physical tag — append-only, the dispute record.

Every completed inspection writes a tag record: the date, the serial, the result, the next-due date, the proof photo, and your license number. It mirrors the physical tag a fire marshal reads.

Records are append-only — a correction is a NEW record, never an edit. That is what makes the history trustworthy in a dispute.

GaugeRoute records the inspection and service you performed; it does not certify code compliance or the fire-safety status of any site — that determination rests with you and the authority having jurisdiction.
